We are excited to announce that Air IT has become the 40th patron of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC), a leading business support organisation and one of the largest Chambers in the West Midlands.
Back in September, we announced that we were expanding into the West Midlands after joining up with Birmingham-based IT support company, Microtrading. Now that the integration is complete, we’re delighted to have enhanced our Chamber membership status by becoming one of only 40 patrons of GBCC.
Andrew Penlington, Regional Director of Air IT (Birmingham), said:
We are delighted to be named as the 40th patron of the Greater Birmingham Chamber during our 40th year in business. After many years of being a GBCC member, becoming a patron is the icing on the cake.
This will allow us to play a more active role in shaping Chamber policies, as well as advising SMEs on best practice regarding technology which has been our mission from the start.
Henrietta Brealey, Chief Executive of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said:
I’m really thrilled that Air IT have joined our top tier of membership as patrons of the Chambers. They join a raft of other influential, trail-blazing businesses that are real leaders in our region. The Chamber is a not for profit and our patrons, like us, are committed to supporting and developing a flourishing local business community.
Air IT are a forward-thinking business with roots in the Midlands and a people-first culture. Their growth trajectory is impressive and we look forward to working with them on that journey through our bespoke, tailored range of patronage services.
About the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce
Established in 1813, the Greater Birmingham Chamber aims to connect, support and grow local businesses across the region. They provide a variety of support services, events, networking opportunities and media exposure for businesses of all sizes and sectors across six geographical areas including:
- Birmingham
- Burton
- Chase
- Lichfield and Tamworth
- Solihull
- Sutton Coldfield
They also share the latest intelligence on best practice, local business trends and policy changes to help businesses stay on top of what’s going on in the business world.
From members to patrons
Following on from several years of membership under the Microtrading banner, we are delighted to extend our support by becoming patrons. This is the Chamber’s top tier of membership which offers a limited number of companies – who are leaders in their field – the opportunity to help influence Chamber policy and get involved with representation activities. Patrons include businesses of various sizes, from local businesses to international brands such as Mondelez International, Jaguar Land Rover, Birmingham Airport and HSBC.
Becoming more involved in the thriving business community of Greater Birmingham will not only strengthen Air IT’s existing West Midlands presence but will also help us establish new relationships with local companies, helping them better understand the critical role of technology in modern business.
John Whitty, CEO of Air IT, said:
Becoming patrons of the Greater Birmingham Chamber is a major milestone for Air IT, which cements our expansion into the West Midlands.
Through our patronage, we look forward to developing our relationships with fellow members and contributing to the fantastic work of GBCC across the region.
