We are delighted to announce the new look of our much-loved company mascot, Tech Tom, and introduce his new sidekick, i-Tina, to the team.

The Evolution of Tom
Technology Tom – now known more simply as Tech Tom – was created in 2017 as a fun way to add interest to cyber awareness and technology tips shared on our Twitter page. After becoming an instant success with clients and employees, he quickly became a permanent feature both online and within the Air IT culture as our official Service Desk mascot.
Alongside our continued progression as a company over the last few years, the concept of Tech Tom has also grown and developed. In fact, our mascot has undergone two brilliant makeovers since first creation. Starting off with a look that featured the Air IT uniform, and then transforming into the Service Desk Superhero we all know and love.
We saw our recent rebrand as the perfect opportunity to give Tech Tom yet another upgrade. This time with a fresh “geek chic” appearance.
Welcome to the team, i-Tina
As well as giving Tech Tom a new look, we were keen to introduce a female mascot to represent the women working at Air IT and within the technology industry – and so i-Tina was born!
Sitting alongside Tech Tom as our new dynamic duo, i-Tina adds more personality and interest to our mascots than ever before and is already proving a big hit with the team.
Our mascots continue to be proudly displayed around the office, and eagled eyed Tech Tom fans might have noticed they’re even featured on the Air IT Elite Performance Centre at Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
Our mascots brought to life
Back in 2017, we jumped at the chance of bringing our previous Tech Tom design to life when we had the pleasure of working with one of the country’s top puppet makers, Karl Evans, to create a real mascot for our team.
Our Tech Tom puppet was so popular at events and exhibitions, we were delighted to work with Karl yet again to create new puppets for both the updated Tech Tom and i-Tina.

With just a couple of weeks left until the Service Desk Institute’s IT Service & Support Awards 2019, our new mascots have already been hard at work filming our finalist’s video alongside the Air IT team, which will be premiered at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 26th March.
As finalists for two prestigious awards – Best Small Enterprise MSP and Service Desk Manager of the Year – we’re looking forward to showcasing our video and celebrating with the team, so please watch this space for their official debut!
